Mr. Robert Ioanna is the Chief Technical Officer with Syska Hennessy Group, currently leading all aspects of the firm’s technical delivery and Syska Innovations subsidiary wholly owned subsidiary. He is a passionate advocate for Energy Conservation, Sustainability and Wellness.

Robert founded Syska Innovations originally to invest in seed-stage companies and pilot their software and products, but has recently added a new perspective by promoting ideation and technology development within Syska.

Robert has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Binghamton University in New York and began his professional journey with Syska New York as an engineer in training. Throughout the years under Rob’s leadership, the New York office has achieved a rise in profitability, market diversification and technical talent. He has been recognized by his industry peers and awarded with the ENR top 20 Under 40 distinction and the “Building Design and Construction’s Top 40 Under 40 award. Robert distinguishes his team by providing his clients with a high standard of technical excellence that is delivered with superior service.

Robert is very involved in giving back to the community and sits on engineering advisory boards for both Binghamton University and Hofstra University. He participates on the 7×24 Exchange Metro Chapter Board of Directors and helps to oversee the annual University Challenge which is a scholarship competition hosted annually. He is a long-time board member of the Network Rewired Golf Committee and a supporter of several charities that focus on Autism awareness and education. He was appointed by NYCDOB as a working group committee member for the New York City’s local Law 97 or Carbon Emission law. Mr. Ioanna holds professional engineering licenses in several states and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
