Steve Rose serves as the Director of Technical Innovation and Facilities at the Electrical Training Institute (ETI), where he is committed to elevating ETI to a world-class leader in apprenticeship education and technical innovation. Since joining ETI as a part-time instructor in 1996 and advancing to Assistant Training Director in 2022, and now moving in the world of technical innovation, Steve has consistently prioritized forward-thinking leadership and mentorship, inspiring apprentices and journey-level workers alike with his vision for the future of electrical training.
With over 43 years in the electrical industry, Steve’s leadership extends beyond ETI’s walls. He is a respected speaker, presenting at numerous NECA conventions since 2017, and has led discussions at prefabrication and packaging conferences since 2018. In 2023, Steve presented on servant leadership within apprenticeship programs, underscoring his dedication to developing leaders who prioritize service, support, and collaboration.
Steve’s career is marked by innovation, including over 20 unique inventions and contributions to lean practices, through roles such as charter member of Rosendin’s Lean Steering Committee and later as Rosendin’s Corporate Director of Prefab and Packaging. His contributions to municipal standards were further solidified during his tenure as a commercial electrical inspector for the City of Los Angeles and his active membership in technical advisory committees for both the City of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County.
Beyond his technical contributions, Steve’s impact is perhaps most felt in his mentorship, guiding ETI’s next generation of skilled professionals with industry knowledge and a commitment to high standards. His work in technical standardization, training advancement, and facility innovation has left an enduring mark on Southern California’s electrical industry, ETI’s reputation for excellence, and the industry as a whole.
